How to Hang Posters Without Frames Using Thin Neodymium Magnets

Looking for a clean way to hang posters without nails or bulky frames? Neodymium disc magnets, especially the flat ones, offer an elegant and minimalist solution. These strong, compact magnets can hold posters securely – and they’re so thin you barely see them.

What You’ll Need

For most standard posters:
4 to 8 disc magnets, e.g. size 10 mm × 2 mm or 8 mm × 1 mm
– A metal board, magnetic wall paint, or
– A second set of magnets behind the wall for sandwich mounting

Simply place the magnets on the poster corners or edges and attach them to the wall or metal backing. The result: a floating, frameless look that’s easily adjustable.

Why It’s a Smart Solution

✔ No holes or adhesives
✔ Easy to swap posters
Magnets as thin as 1–2 mm
✔ Perfect for modern, flexible wall design

Pro Tip

Use 1 mm thick magnets for lightweight paper prints. For heavier or textured materials, go for 2–3 mm thick discs to ensure a firm grip.
